Federal by-election to be called in Outremont: the timing

The issue I'm going to raise here is non-partisan in nature, at least I like to think so. Here it is; I know that Gary Merasty doesn't resign as the MP for Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River until the end of August. However, I am disappointed the Prime Minister did not try to at least group the Quebec by-elections together.

Good News For Liberals

I've been pretty quick to point out Liberal weakness in Quebec. To be fair, the latest Strategic Council poll shows some encouraging signs for Dion and the Liberals, in his home province...

Quebec Soldiers Deployed

Quebec citizens just don't like this Afghanistan military movement. They won't be afraid to boot those Quebec Conservative MPs the heck out of their seats next election either...

Pierre Bourque has been running a headline most of the day: "PEI'S GHIZ VOTED ILLEGALLY"

Really? Take a closer look. This article is complete horseshit.

You'll note that while our journaliste goes through the pains of lamenting the 12-month residential requirement for voting municipally in Quebec, (which burned one of his separatist pals) here's something you won't read in Michel David's piece-of-merde article...

The PQ Leadership Void

We can't call it a race just yet - whether the leadership void is resolved through a coronation or a race will be a key issue over the next few days. It's certain that Gilles Duceppe will seek the leadership. What is less certain is whether Pauline Marois and Joseph Facal will run as well...
