John Tory: Soft On Rural Separatists?

John Tory - where have you been for 10 years?

John Tory made a fascinating statement today. Standing in front of a school in Mississauga he declared: "Not too long ago, many of us remember our local schools doubled as important centres in our community. Countless Ontario adults remember going to Boy or Girl Scout meetings, neighbourhood events or things like that at the local school."

That we did John. But you must have been out of the country and on another planet for the last 10 years. A guy by the name of Mike Harris...

There was no "slush fund"

What is with the Toronto Star? Why in the world would you print a headline "'Slush fund' answers due soon"? As I have argued before, even if all the accusations are true there was no "slush fund"...

When doing a public announcement doesn't quite mean that the public is allowed...

In this age of information, it is not exactly a crazy idea for people to be present videotaping a press conference; especially from another party. What is crazy though, is trying to stop and causing a scene while doing it...

Check out Dalton.ca, it is a look into the work of a man I much admire and a party I believe in. I am sure you will see the greatness I see in him, that is if you don't already.....

I support public education

Private schools are not a Jewish issue. I know many Jews send their children to private day-schools, but many Jews also send their children to public day-schools. Why should the organized Jewish community only represent those who use the private schools?

Jim Flaherty & Christine Elliot - Scandal or Coincidence?

I have often wondered why Jim Flaherty has always been so interested in providing tax breaks and opportunities to private education. While he was a provincial cabinet Minister and PC leadership hopeful he proposed tax breaks and deductions for private school tuition and more recently as Federal Finance Minister he introduced tax exemption for scholarships, bursaries and grants...

McGuinty says duty to voters exceeds his duty to Pope

And Bravo! to Dalton McGuinty for saying so.

On a clear day, you can see Hamilton

Will Gift Cards Save Dalton McGuinty?

In the legislative wasteland that is the McGuinty government's first term, there has been the occasional embarrassing reversal (the "slush fund"), and the occasional substantive triumph (Ontario's Greenbelt legislation). But mostly, there has been a whole lot of Nothing: the province has existed in the relatively pleasant state of being "not in the hands of Mike Harris"...

C.W. Jefferys - Jordan Manners

As we begin to get older and older, so too do we begin to realize how our youth and its innocence have begun to evaporate. Today, two young men have been charged in the shooting death of their 15 year old schoolmate Jordan Manners. Why has this event prompted me to think about my youth and its lost innocence?...
